Precious Sisters is a charity dedicated to “giving bright girls a chance to shine”. Our focus is to give girls from Kenya the chance of a secondary education: a chance that would not be available to them without the charity’s support.

You can find out more about the work of the charity within these pages, from the story of our set up, to the mentoring that we provide in order to give our girls the best chance of success in life.

We hope that you are inspired to sponsor a girl through the four years of her education and to give her the opportunity to shine. To sponsor a student for one year costs £350. This equates to providing an education for less than the cost of 2 skinny lattes per week. By paying a girl’s school fees, you will be opening up for her a world of opportunity that would otherwise be denied her because of the poverty into which she was born.

All of our girls are chosen because of their academic potential and because of their inability to pay. Every penny that you donate goes directly to school fees: none of it to administration costs. It is as simple as that. Secondary school education in Kenya lasts for four years, so the ideal situation would to pair a sponsor with a “Sister” for the course of her education, from Year 1 to Year 4.

But if you can not afford to sponsor a girl, then you can always make a donation - however small - towards the cost of the books and folders that we use at our mentoring events. We would be very grateful for whatever you can afford. If you would like to make a one-of donation through Just-Giving, then please click on the link below.

Remember that if you are a UK resident for income tax purposes, then Precious Sisters, as a registered UK charity, can increase the value of your donation through “Gift Aid”. If you would like to contribute with Gift Aid, then please print and complete the declaration gift aid, and e-mail to us
